I got back from an amazing trip to Seminyak, Bali for the second time in March 2024, and let me tell you, it was everything I’d hoped for and more. Whether you're a luxury seeker, an adventure lover, or just looking for a peaceful retreat, Seminyak has something magical to offer.
Where I Stayed: Pure Bliss at the Ramada Encore by Wyndham Seminyak
I checked into the Ramada Encore by Wyndham Seminyak, and wow, this place is like stepping into a tropical dream. From my pool-view room to the lush gardens surrounding the property, it was the perfect mix of luxury and relaxation. The moment I walked into my room, I felt like I was in paradise, every morning was the ultimate way to start the day. If you're planning to stay in Seminyak, this resort is definitely a top pick for comfort, amazing service, and convenience.
Beaches & Sunsets That Will Capture Your Heart
Seminyak’s beaches? I still can’t get over how beautiful they are! 🏖️ Seminyak Beach itself is the perfect spot for those who want to catch some sun take a leisurely walk, or even catch a few waves. Speaking of sunsets, La Plancha is a must-visit spot. I went there a few evenings to watch the sun dip below the horizon while chilling on colourful bean bags with a cocktail in hand. The vibe is super laid-back, and the beachy atmosphere is perfect for those lazy Bali evenings.
Shopping & Exploring Seminyak’s Artsy Side
Aside from the beaches and food, Seminyak is a paradise for anyone who loves shopping and discovering unique pieces. I spent hours wandering through the little boutiques and shopping malls, picking up some gorgeous handmade jewellery and one-of-a-kind clothing items at both Seminyak Square and Beachwalk Shopping Mall, located right on Kuta Beach.
One of the highlights for me was visiting the Biasa ArtSpace. If you’re an art lover or looking for some cool Instagram shots, this gallery should be on your list. Bali’s art scene is so rich and full of culture, and Seminyak is home to some of the best galleries showcasing modern Balinese art.
The Bali Spa Experience: Treat Yourself!
Now, let’s talk about relaxation because Bali is the place to unwind. During my trip, I indulged in several traditional Balinese massages which were just pure bliss when travelling. After all the sightseeing, a spa day is the perfect way to pamper yourself. If you’re in the mood for something even more luxurious, the The Legian Bali offers an ultra-relaxing spa experience with stunning ocean views. Trust me, you won’t want to leave.
Seminyak’s Vibrant Nightlife
When the sun sets, the fun doesn’t stop! Seminyak’s nightlife is just as vibrant and exciting as the rest of the town. On my second night, I headed to Potato Head Beach Club, and wow—it was such a vibe! The music, the crowd, and the views were absolutely incredible. If you love a lively atmosphere with great tunes and even better drinks, this is the place to be.
Cultural Stops: Embrace the Spiritual Side of Bali
Seminyak isn’t just about beaches and resorts; it’s also full of culture. I made sure to visit Petitenget Temple during my trip, which is just a short walk from the beach. It’s one of Bali’s most important temples and offers a peaceful atmosphere that allowed me to connect with the spiritual side of the island. Whether you’re exploring Bali’s ancient temples or taking in the tranquil surroundings, it’s a great way to learn more about the culture.
Wrapping Up My Seminyak Adventure

From the beautiful beaches and luxurious resorts to the amazing food and vibrant nightlife, there’s just so much to love about this part of Bali. Top 5 Travel Tips when travelling to Bali
1. Respect Local Culture and Traditions
Bali has a rich cultural heritage, so it’s important to be respectful of local customs and traditions. When visiting temples, dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees), and don’t touch sacred objects unless invited. Don’t step over offerings (canang sari) placed on the ground—these are a daily ritual for Balinese Hindus. A little understanding of the local culture goes a long way.
2. Use a Scooter for Getting Around
Bali is known for its traffic, especially in areas like Kuta or Ubud. One of the best ways to get around the island is by renting a scooter. It's inexpensive, convenient, and gives you the freedom to explore Bali's stunning landscapes at your own pace. Just make sure you're comfortable riding and always wear a helmet for safety.
3. Be Cautious of the Weather and Sun
Bali has a tropical climate, and it can get very hot and humid, especially during the day. Always wear sunscreen, even if it’s cloudy, and stay hydrated throughout the day. If you're planning to hike or explore in the heat, try to do so early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the midday sun.
4. Negotiate in the Markets
Bargaining is a common practice in Bali’s markets, especially in tourist areas like Ubud or Seminyak. Don’t be afraid to haggle over prices, but always be polite and respectful. A good starting point is to offer around 50% of the initial price, then negotiate from there. It's all part of the fun and a way to get a better deal on souvenirs.
5. Avoid Drinking Tap Water
While Bali has many modern conveniences, it’s safest to avoid drinking tap water. Always opt for bottled water, which is widely available. It’s also a good idea to brush your teeth with bottled water and to avoid ice in drinks unless you’re sure it's made from purified water.
Safe travels, and see you on the next adventure!
